The Team

Mark is our man on the ground at Huntly looking after the welfare and needs of the cattle. Mark and his handy band of beautiful bitchs work wonders especially at weaning time.
Weaning is when the calves are big enough to be taken off their mothers. It is a stressful time for them but an enjoyable time for us, winning their trust, over coming their fears and educating them to the process. Mark can handle just about any job and we rely on him for maintenance as well as infrastructure.

and Weruschca, superwoman, who came to visit Huntly this year and set us all in the right direction. Weruschca has been studying and consulting on restoration of ecosystems, permaculture, design, soils and everything in between! She is a mind of information and energy. She has designed a plan for our permaculture garden and keeps a close eye on everything even though she has returned to Holland. If you would like to learn more about Weruschca you can google her on Mula Permaculture.

Rohan, left Sydney, a good job, house and debt and gave it all up when his health started to suffer. He ventured north and lived at Zaytuna Permaculture Institute for two years where he learnt how to grow healthy organic food. Rohan is a student of life, always curious to learn a more healthy and sustainable existence.
He is our Compost King, making a continuous supply with the help of the chooks. He is knowledgable in Syntropic farming and Food Forests and has been transforming the Huntly Garden for the past two years.

and this is Rodney, my beautiful husband. Rodney and I are weekend weds and whenever. He works his property, Bungawarra (80km to the north) and I run Huntly. However he comes to my rescue whenever I need him. He is not only a genius, he treads where angels fear to go, with intrepidation.

I'm Bloss, leader of the Huntly mob. My goals are to create a healthy viable ecosystem on Huntly with an abundance of flora and fauna; become totally self-sufficient; evolve a refuge for like-minded people; learn and share all my knowledge on soils, forests, permaculture, health and art. I believe that agriculture must be diverse and incorporate our natural systems as much as possible to survive the climate and keep the ecosystems, soils and ourselves healthy.
